Bringing Credibility to Aggregated Healthcare Websites

Abstract:

In this talk, we explore the phenomenon of receiving health information that are often challenging to verify. In this series of research, we investigate the role that aggregating health information from multiple sources could play in ascertaining the credibility and veracity of health information, from the perspective of the health information receiver. A series of five studies are being/were conducted. Future extensions will also be discussed.

Biography

Choon Ling Sia is Professor and Associate Dean of Research and Faculty at College of Business, City University of Hong Kong. He is recognized as AIS Fellow (2015). He served as Director of Center of Social Media Marketing and Business Intelligence at the City University of Hong Kong from 2012 till 2021. He is serving, or has served, on the editorial boards of MIS Quarterly, Information Systems Research, Journal of the AIS, IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management, Journal of Global Information Management, Information and Management, and Journal of Database Management. His research interests include electronic commerce, social media, cross-cultural issues in information systems, healthcare information platform management, distributed work arrangements, and computer-mediated communication.
