Selected tourist attractions in Xi’an：

1. Terra-cotta Warriors Museum（兵马俑）

Terra-cotta Warriors Museum is one that is specialized in relic display. The main object exhibited here are the terra-cotta figures of more than 2000 years old. These figures stand for the garrison force that protects Emperor Qinshihuang’s mausoleum.

It is already known that the mausoleum consists of two sections, an inner city and an out city, both rectangular in shape. The tomb lies in the southern part of the inner city. Originally, the tomb was 115m high. After over 2000 years weathering, the mausoleum today still remains more than 70m in height. Approximately 500 satellite tombs and pits have been discovered in the vicinity of the mausoleum.

2.Bell Tower（钟楼）

The Bell Tower is a symbol of Xi’an which is a city that blends ancient and modern cultures. In today’s city center of Xi’an, you can find the Bell Tower at the intersection of four main streets within the Ming City Wall.The Bell Tower is an attic building with three eaves, four corners and a cusp. It covers an area of 1377.64 square meters and is built on the square foundation made of green bricks and white ash. The cross-shaped cave 6 meters high and wide under the platform is connected with four streets in the southeast, northwest and northeast.

3. Mount Huashan（华山）

Mount Huashan or Huashan (华山) is one of the famous Five Mountains in China, and more importantly, it is the original place of Chinese Civilization. The Hua in the Chinese words of Zhong Hua (中华, means China) and Hua Xia (华夏, the ancient name for China) just came from the Hua Shan (Mount Huashan). Reputed as a holy mountain of Chinese nation, Huashan Mountain is also praised as the Root of Huaxia (China). Moreover, Mount Huashan is regarded as the No. 1 perilous mountain in China, so a lot of riskers and mountaineers have been visiting this famous site to experience its heart-stopping dangerous plank paths on the cliffs. However, along the way to and on the 5 peaks in Mount Huashan tourist area, you could appreciate breath-taking sunrise, sunset, sea of clouds, powerful mountain scenery, a series of interesting places to invigorate your go. Besides, Mount Huashan has tens of ancient Taoist temples and many worth-hearing stories and legends. Therefore, you could have a better knowledge about Taoism in China and other Chinese culture and history.
